I used to be a blogger once …

Once, I set out on a journey to become a better writer. I thought to myself what better way to do so than to write about flying. After all … it is my passion and I already eat, breathe and dream about it … I should never be short of things to write about. And so while conveniently forgetting what became of all of my previous blogging attempts, I began putting together this blog. It went well for about a year … I started building a small following of interested friends and family and I had at least one person check in on me whenever I slowed down. Alas life caught up with me and this blog succumbed to the same fate as all those before it.

Two years have passed, and a great deal has happened. I have flown across the country to the border city of Yuma, AZ. Looked down on the reddened cliff walls of the Grand Canyon. Landed at airports perched at 9,700 feet and viewed the Rockies from the unique vantage point that is a Piper Cherokee. And the most exciting adventure of all was that I started a new life with my darling wife. Trying to go back and put all of that into writing is not a task that I would like to commit to nor will it be necessary. I imagine that the future will hold as many adventures and surprises as the past. And so I will focus on the future and write about that. If I find myself running short of writing materials … well … I do love a good story. I’m sure I can pull one of those I haven’t written about yet.

As for the blog itself? The host managed to nuke the entire site. It’s a wonder that I was able to salvage what I did. I will be spending some time in the future trying to put it back together but I know the pictures are most definitely lost. Rather than trying to hunt down backup copies I will leave the previous post in their text only form. My writing wasn’t that great anyway (Probably isn’t much better now) and so for the most part … I’ll just pretend they don’t exist.

And so I welcome you, the weary traveler, who out of boredom, interest or even by accident have managed to click through to my humble scribblings. I don’t promise much, but i hope you like what you see.
